Work includes responsibility for inspection of a variety of construction projects for conformance with engineering plans and specifications and other regulations.
Salary range 55k-65k per year. Medical, PTO, Retirement and Ancillary benefits available after 90 days.
Engineering Inspector duties include:
Review, oversee, and inspect the work performed by contractors
Review plans and specifications of projects prior to construction and attends pre-construction meetings
Witness, test, review, evaluate, and interpret test data
Prepare and maintain notes, diaries, field logs, and project files
Review pay requests for capital improvement projects
Review change orders for fair pricing by contractors
Review utilities and roadway plans
Prepare technical reports on various construction and quality control subjects
Perform National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) inspections and document the results
Seven years of progressively responsible experience in construction inspection or testing of capital improvement and private development projects involving roadways, stormwater facilities, potable water distribution systems, sanitary pump stations, gravity sewer collection systems, reclaimed water distribution systems, potable water treatment and wastewater treatment facilities.
Possession of an acceptable Florida Class B CDL License preferred.
Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Stormwater Certification or ability to obtain in 6 months
Possession of an Orange County Underground Utility Competency Card or ability to obtain in 6 months.
Thorough knowledge of the practices, methods, and materials of underground utility construction.
Thorough knowledge of modern construction inspections procedures.
Thorough knowledge of applicable plans, specifications, and construction codes.
Considerable knowledge of mathematics through trigonometry and plane geometry.
Knowledge of Public Service Commission and Department of Transportation regulation.
Knowledge of city and county utility and environmental ordinances.
Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, and specifications.
Ability to operate surveying, computer, and testing equipment.
